LEGALS ~ Inspecting Scaffolding is a legal requirement
RESPONSIBILITIES ~ It is the responsibility of the Client or Hirer, NOT the Scaffolding Contractor, to ensure the legal duty is discharged
CONFIGURATIONS ~ Scaffolding has to be erected to a recognised configuration (TG20-21) or to a Bespoke Design
LEGALS -
It is a legal requirement for inspections to be completed. Failure to do so will mean organisations have failed to protect their workers under their obligations outlined in the "Working at Height Regulations (2005)".RESPONSIBILITIES
The performance of the duty can be delegated but the legal responsibility is retained.
HSE Guidance stipulates that any scaffold inspections must be carried out by a competent person whose knowledge, training and experience is appropriate to the complexity of the scaffold they are inspecting.
CONFIGURATIONS
Further, under this regulation scaffolds must be inspected at an interval of no more than 7 days, or following any circumstance that could jeopardise its stability and integrity. This is also a legal requirement from Regulation 12 (WHAR 2005)
